Abalone Triangles

Description

I picked up these iridescent earrings in Otavalo, Ecuador – one of the cities where Global Encounters have been working for several years now. We have seen an amazing openness to the gospel among the kids and parents. On weekends the main square of Otavalo is a delightful maze of vendors selling jewelry, blankets, scarves, belts, artwork, food, and and who knows what else. It’s a great place to wander, bargain, and buy a delicious cup of Ecuadorian coffee.

The earrings are made from pieces of abalone shell mounted on a silver backing. They measure about 2″ long and 7/8″ wide.
